Tenne Samura Escapes the wrath of Death from Secret Society Heads

It was informed that Tenne Samura who hailed from Kabala District, in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone narrowly escaped early death from cruel society heads. It was updated that her grandmother who inherited the traditional leadership role from her own mother( Tenne’s great grand mother) became the supreme head of the Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) secret society, which is locally called Bondo secret society, the society that is responsible for circumcision of the female genital part. Reliable informations gathered have revealed that her grandmother was highly respected in the chiefdom due to the sacred position she was holding, but she was not lucky to give birth to a female child. Sources closed to her say that she is a mother of three(3) male children and one of them happens to be the father of Tenne Samura, who is their bone of contention.

However, it is said that Tenne’s Dad is the only lucky one to have a female child and there comes the beginning of Tenne’s struggle, as her grandmother started chanting, singing, dancing and calling Samura all sorts of names , pinpointing on the fact that she has finally got a successor. Family friends revealed to this Writer that Tenne’s mother was strongly against the cruel idea whilst her father was in full support of her mother’s naive traditional agenda due to sacred traditional belief. Tenne Samura was going to school when such misfortune dodged her and she had no one to run to because her father had already supported her mother against her only daughter. Authentic sources have proven that since Tenne Samura did not succumb to their traditional practice, she started moving from one undisclosed location to another. Tenne felt she would have been harmed or mistreated because she has been refusing to join them and it is due to the fact that her traditional people had declared her wanted either dead or alive for violating the traditional roles. And it is said that anyone who enters into their secret society bush first must be initiated or considered a spy and must not live to tell the story. Tenne Samura finally left the shores of Sierra Leone to an unknown destination on the……….. and dare not to return for fear of her early death with aggression.
