Social Activist Mahmoud Bangura Escapes the Agony of Death

Reliable information reaching this Media Practitioner revealed that Mahmoud Alpha Bangura who was a young vibrant Social Activist, residing at 29E Pipe Line, Calaba Town in Freetown have been facing severe harassment, castigation and attempts to waste his Life, for being a vibrant and fearless Social Media influencer and community vuvuzelar. It is said that Mahmoud stops at nothing when people’s rights are abused and when the wrong things are done in Governance. Reliable sources have confided that he has been always advocating for things to get better and lashing the ruling Government for implementing bad Governance policies that have the tendency to create mayhem in the near future.They say he has been advocating via social media and community engagements. Due to his bluntness and bravery to speak nothing but the truth to the powers that be, he has been classed as one of the APC operatives who has been assiduously working to ensure that the image of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) led Government of President Bio is brought to disrepute in the eyes of not only Sierra Leoneans but the International Community as well. For those reasons, it was confirmed that SLPP stakeholders have been clandestinely working behind closed doors to get rid of him and his family. What made matters worse for him was when he was engaging people within various communities on issues of bad governance and the poised to change the current economic hardship in the Country through the deprived electorates.

Moreover, intelligence gathered by this Media House have revealed that Mahmoud was a major protester against the unabated economic hardship in the country on the 10th, 11th and 12th August 2022. Those peaceful protests turned out to be bloody attacks on those young and vibrant people who stood for better conditions of living among citizens. And it was captured that Mahmoud was almost killed by armed gunmen who were shooting at protesters on target. Had it not been the intervention of his loyalists who quickly took him out of the scenes, he should have been a dead man.

However, reliable sources intimated this Writer that Bangura did not stop pursuing his dream on different social media platforms and One- to-one touch to his people.He went on to organize a Town Hall meeting at Calaba Town where he hosted quite a good number of people, who later decided to stage a peaceful protest against the heartless rule of the Bio led Government. It was revealed that August 10th, 11th and 12th saw the need for a peaceful protest. Since the Social Activist, Mahmoud Alpha Bangura has been advocating for an improved economic situation for the general good of all, he and other vibrant youths took to the streets of Freetown, starting from the Far East. Unfortunately, they were strongly intercepted by the Police for disturbing the peace and tranquility of the Freetown municipality.

Thereafter, Bangura with some of his Team Members went at large because they were chased all over the place for causing atrocities and for serving as Agents of incitement who wanted to cause unrest in the Country.It was reported that six(6) Police Officers and some civilians were killed. Inorder to escape brutal death, it was told that Mahmoud was secretly moving from one undisclosed location to another and out of frustration on the side of some SLPP loyalists , his family members were seriously intimidated and harassed at their residence on 29E Pipe Line, Calaba Town Western Area Urban , Freetown on the very day that Alpha disappeared. According to neighbours, it was unearthed that the innocent family had no better option than to leave that particular place to somewhere safe. It was so inorder to save not only their lives but the lives of other family members who are not residing in Freetown. As it is, no one can tell the actual location of Mahmoud’s mmediate family.

By and large, all fingers were pointing at Mahmoud Alpha Bangura for been adamant about their Government since they came to power in 2018. They say Mahmoud has been everywhere condemning not only economic hardship but every other Agenda that the Government is pursuing. It was intimated that he was embarking on a broad spectrum advocacy as outlined above via social media. Exposing the brutality of the Police to Civil Society Activists, Journalists and harmless civilians, was also part of his practice .Therefore, the Government and SLPP stakeholders are desperately searching for him and are bent on wiping him off at anytime he is caught within this Country. Sources closed to him updated this Journalist that Mahmoud narrowly escaped death by leaving secretly the shores of Sierra Leone to an unknown destination on 15th August 2022 for fear of untimely death.
