Foday Bangura, A Political Activist Escapes the Agony of Death from Hostile Regime

Informations gathered by this Media Practitioner have revealed that Foday Bangura , who was a renowned and fearless Political Activist has been exposing the excesses of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Government under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio since they came to power in 2018. Based on the influential roles he was playing, he has been accused of creating mayhem in the country through incitement. It is said by reliable sources that Bangura has been shedding light on the escalating economic and political challenges faced by citizens, especially those perceived to be members and supporters of the main opposition party, All Peoples Congress (APC) under the watch of President Bio who has supposed to be the Father of the Nation, seeking the welfare of every Sierra Leonean. Different reliable sources confided to this Writer that Foday Bangura has been strongly accused by the Bio led administration of having hands in the August 10th, 2022 peaceful protest for the unbearable economic hardship, which turned out to be bloody confrontations between security personnel and harmless protesters. It was revealed to this Writer that Activist Foday Bangura sustained injury during coverage and ensuring that the said protests concluded peacefully. Bangura was also accused of being a major player in the September 11th , 2023 movement that aimed at addressing the growing public dissatisfaction with the awkward activities of this current PAOPA government.

This Press was updated by eye witnesses that it was because Bangura was exposing and pinpointing on the increasing volatile situation in the country , unbearable economic hardship, rampant corruption, political intimidation of members belonging to the APC, unlawful arrests and detention of APC politicians, summary dismissal of civil servants perceived to belong to the main opposition party (APC), among others was accused of wanting to create unrest in the country and referred to as “terrorist “. Those strong allegations made against the patriot, Foday Bangura, led to clandestine attempts orchestrated to get rid of him dead or alive by both government motivated security personnel, thugs of the SLPP Government and some party hierarchy for not only exposing their government to ridicule but denting their image to the International community as well.

However, what made the matter worse is the fact that the political Activist has been chased all over the place by the aforementioned authorities, who are poised at wasting his life as he is highly considered as an APC operative who has been working relentlessly to put the image of their Government into disrepute and inciting the people to take to the streets. Those deadly attempts, they say were made secretly to knock him down without the General public knowing about it. Upon getting intelligence from several sources, Foday Bangura wasted no time to run from one undisclosed location to another until he finally found his way out of the shores of Sierra Leone on 14th September 2022.

By and large, it was narrated that this particular government is bent on killing him secretly anywhere he is found within the country. Their strong allies have been informed and all of them are embarking on achieving the said goal.
