Bike Rider Chairman on the Run for Incitement & Execution

Reliable sources have revealed to this Media Practitioner that Osman Kargbo who was elected in 2019 as Bike Riders’ Chairman in the Western Area District, who served during 2019 to 2024. Osman, they say is a Trade Unionist who has been playing influential role among his fellow bike riders and subordinates during and after the 2018 General elections. This Media House has been told that Osman has influence over one thousand (1,000) riders across the Country, not only limited to the Freetown municipality. Kargbo, they say have been advocating for colleague riders who were caught in Police net for committing minor crimes. Osman, according to reliable sources, was very vibrant and convincing in his approach and that made most Government officials and Police Officers in higher ranks to be afraid of him. He has been all over the place ensuring that the welfare of Bike Riders were sought. He used to narrate to authorities that quite a good number of those riders are those who witnessed the eleven(11) years senseless war in Sierra Leone and some even took part. Authorities, based on information gathered, got scared and started looking at the vibrant Chairman as a threat to the co-existence of bike riding in the capital city and across the Country. So, they started pursuing him clandestinely to knock him down. Also, the leadership of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Government of President Julius Maada Bio started looking at him as an enemy of the State because he was so influential amongst the youths and has the tendency to incite disgruntled young people against their Government.

However, this Reporter was able to detect that all fingers were pointing at Chairman Osman Kargbo of having hands in the August 10th, 11th and 12th protests, which turned to massacre in the Freetown municipality. It is said that he was accused based on his popularity, influence over bike riders, especially those staying in the East End of Freetown and he has been a prime suspect when riots were staged.His name and background were also used against him. Lives of security personnel and civilians were brutally snatched and properties were carted away. Osman, they say was strongly accused of supporting the said protests and that his name had been secretly written on the list of those who they are vehemently searching for to be killed in cold blood.

Furthermore this Media House was able to capture that on the 30th November 2023, Osman’s house was ransacked and the community people were pursuing him for been suspected of having hands in the failed attempted coup d’etat against the sitting President Bio on the 26th November 2023.It was so because during the prison break, prisoners were celebrating him and even visited him for the humanitarian services he has been rendering to them over the years. Thereafter, it was discovered that security personnel and party fanatics captured him, mercilessly beaten to the extent of broking his left shoulder and was left at the point of death not until he was rescued by few family members and good friends. They even thought he was already dead and that was the more reason why he was left in bleeding and struggling to breathe.

Conclusively but most importantly, this Media Practitioner was informed that Osman Kargbo finally left the shores of Sierra Leone to an unknown location for fear of untimely death on Monday 15th January 2024. As Government officials, the community and party thugs were all bent on killing him at anytime he is found anywhere within the Country.
