VP Jalloh Admires at the Outstanding Performance of Ports DG
The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on 12th March, 2025, paid a courtesy call on the ports of Freetown, where he was received by the Director General (DG) of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Mr. Yakuba Askia Bio. During the visit, Dr. Jalloh was taken on a guided tour of the port facilities, where he observed ongoing port operations and infrastructural developments. The performance rated DG provides an overview of the authority’s strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, security, and trade facilitation. As part of the tour, the Vice President also visited the port’s transit point, where he assessed the movement of goods through the facility. The visit underscored the government’s commitment to improving port infrastructure and strengthening Sierra Leone’s position as a key maritime hub in the region.
However, Dr. Jalloh commended the leadership of SLPHA for their efforts in modernizing port operations and reaffirmed the government’s support in ensuring the port remains a vital driver of economic growth and international trade.
