SLeDU Appoints New President to Lead the Organization into the Future
Freetown, Sierra Leone — The Sierra Leone DJ’s Union (SLeDU) has announced the appointment of its newly appointed President, Prezo Koroma, who will head the interim executive committee tasked with guiding the organization through a pivotal period. This leadership transition marks a significant step towards unifying all DJs in the country under one cohesive body, with the ultimate goal of strengthening the union’s influence, welfare programs, and public image.
Prezo Koroma, in his inaugural remarks, emphasized the importance of unity and collective responsibility. He highlighted that the task of fostering a strong, vibrant union rests not only on the shoulders of the current leadership but also on the elders’ council, the board of directors, and all members of SLeDU. “Togetherness is our responsibility,” Prezo declared. “From the elders’ council to the executive and every member, we must take full responsibility for the welfare of our fellow DJs and the growth of our union.”
He further expressed openness to ideas and suggestions from members, encouraging active participation in shaping the future of SLeDU. “The door is open to all members who wish to bring forward ideas that will make our union an envy in the eyes of the public,” Prezo stated. “We aim to build a union that not only advocates for the rights of DJs but also stands as a model organization for other professional bodies in Sierra Leone.”
The interim executive, appointed by the Board of Directors and the National Advisory Council (NAC) of SLeDU, is charged with overseeing the union’s activities as it prepares for upcoming elections. The leadership union’s and membership are optimistic about the prospects of fostering a united, responsible, and innovative community of DJs dedicated to advancing their profession and contributing positively to Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry.
