As Hisham Mackie dodges interview…
Surface Rent Underpaid by CTC Mining Company
By Father Aliko
Several complaints from landowners of Marampa Chiefdom, Binkoloh have reached the Indigenes Newspaper that a pittance of NLe 1,440 was paid as *SURFACE RENT* for 60 acres of land by CTC mining company. According to the Indigenes of the aforesaid place, grumbling, murmuring, babbling and anger are all over the Chiefdom against the meagre amount been paid for such huge mining project, which is only beneficial to the owners of CTC Mining company, of which Hisham Mackie is not an exception.
Reliable information gathered has also revealed that the natives of Binkoloh are about to protest against such an ill treatment. They are also pinpointing on the fact that CTC mining company is not meeting its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Indigenes of that Chiefdom, devoid of the devastating effects caused by their daily mining activities.
However, Hisham Mackie of CTC Mining company was reached out by this writer in order to capture his own side of the story. That reasonable effort was made on the 24th February 2025 but he responded that he is out of the country and that he will return to Sierra Leone on Friday. On Friday evening, this Media practitioner called him to get his own side but dodged by promising to call back. Hisham Mackie did not call back and he was reminded by this Writer that he will go to Press if he does not give his own side of the story. At the time of going to Press, Hisham Mackie keeps downplaying the burning issue.
